That was seriously the most awesome viper demo that I have seen yet, there was just something about it. He is a awesome pilot! Great team they have and great to watch. Congrats to your son! Chris

Great team they have and great to watch. Congrats to your son! Booster really gets on it. Nothing like the looks and sound of the afterburner. I was able to see 4 of their shows last year and the behind the scenes stuff is amazing. The have a great ground show, but it is to bad that at some of the military shows they are parked in a different time zone so a lot of people never see that part. Like I said I have some great pictures of the crew from last year, however they were taken with a Canon point and shoot. That was before I got my present camera gear. I have been contact by a couple of this years crew and they have offered me the chance to come see them again. I going to make my effort to do that.

Really special, but explain me this: I thought the F16 was refered to as the "Falcon" but this isn't the first time I've seen them here refered to as "Vipers." Are these something more than the standard F16? Chas Gordon

Thanks! It does look like a lawn dart sort of... I see them everyday fly over my house. Yesterday was a good day for them. Lots of activity. Then the skys got real quite. Then a huge transport/cargo four jet engine gray behemoth flew right over my house and me with dirty fingers from working in the backyard and no camera. I'm going to have to go hang out at the parking lot area the AF had built to watch the planes from. It's a great spot to watch stuff coming and going.Sounds like a great spotting spot... Jay

Sounds like you have a great opportunity for some unique shots take advantage of it!If you are located near Luke AFB in Litchfield, AZ, you can some great shots of the F-16 landing if you park on Northern Ave (I'm pretty sure that is the street). They practice almost all day. Another great place to see to see jets at play is Panamint Valley on the west side of Death Valley. I've seen some really rip thru that valley.

Mar 17, 2010 15:27 | #29 DAMMIT! I am so jealous of you guys. I've got to make a major trip out of any spotting I do. I'm in between two regional airports (Gulport-Biloxi and Stennis) and I can't freakin' get near them without being harassed to the point of giving up and leaving. This past weekend there were Eagles, Falcons & Globemaster IIIs at KGPT and the police were running people off like the next stealth project was there. Sheesh... -- Don Fuller --

I'm planning on an extensive air show presence this year. I've got about six in my sights, but, they are all at least 3 hours away. ![]() You should be able to get some great shots down around Pensacola or Algiers (west bank New Orleans).
