Been a while since I've posted. Been enjoying playing more than shooting. :)
Here is my little man at three months old. Have some more I'll throw up later. Let me know what you all think. C&C always.

simply beautiful... :) Nice job! WOW! Is he 3 months old already!!! Time is flying by...

Anyway, you did great with this.. only thing I'd suggest is to either crop it tighter to his face, or try to include his hands in the frame next time around... I understand that babies are wiggly and sometimes it seems an impossible feat... ;)

Otherwise, exposure and sharpness look great. and I love how you nailed focus on his eyes. :)

Thanks. I'm always looking to get better. I probably should read a photography book concerning posing, composition, etc... How do you handle white balance normally? I know I should probably pick up a grey card, but do you find that 'Auto' shooting gets you pretty close?

....and the eyes....I learned from the best...;)

Perfect.

Just curious--your comment about learning from the best to "nail the eyes"; is there a piece of advice you followed to do that?

What a little cutie! I immediately thought awww I wish his little hands were in the shot...then scrolled down and saw it. Great shot!

Somehow I missed your post... LOVE the second shot! Perfect!! :)

White balance... I have a calibration target from photovision.. the small one that hangs around your neck. They offer a discount from time to time, so don't pay full price.. ;) I always forget to use it though.... haha. Except for paid shoots.. then we try to make it routing.

I adjust white balance in RAW. I'm not using LR yet because I'm too lazy to establish a good workflow.. so just use the DPP program that comes with the camera. You can set custom, or choose a color temperature. Often times 5200K is about right, but it depends on the situation.

Post more... he's darn cute! :)
