I got some ND filters today by Cokin. I should of really read up on them before I did. Nasty magenta cast to the images. I had someone tell me about filters sold by "bonifaceleung" on ebay. I searched and didn't find any results here and was wondering if anyone has messed with this. Or would it be better to just buy a Singh-Ray or something of the like.

Just get a known good the first time . . . it's cheaper in the long run. Lee, Singh Ray or Hitech are generally considered good.

If you're using a holder, consider Lee polyester NDs - they have to be stored carefully as they're fairly delicate but they're very good value and optically pretty good because they're so thin. If you're talking graduated NDs then you can't go wrong with Lee or Singh-Ray.

I just want a plain ND. I messed around with the Cokin and if I use just 1 ND filter rather then stacking, I am not getting a color cast. But I'll end up replacing it with another filter later on.
