The HDR's are way too much for me but I really like the black and white shot.

Really interesting series!

I really like the second HDR, but feel you've lost too much detail, either in the PP, or the initial shot.

Maybe a smart-sharpen filter might bring some back?

I use lightroom... I will try to use unsharpen mask in PS.. will post in a while. thanks

haha welcome... and thank you for suggesting unsharp mask... now I have to look back at all my shots and determine which needs unsharp mask.. I bet there are a lot!!
