I think it would look better brightened up a bit maybe?

Quite under exposed. Bounce flash can help.

LOL, my 5 week old son loves his hands, can't keep them away from his face!!! I have a ton of photos of him, and in like 5% he doesn't have his hands up!!!

Maybe crop a little from top, bottom and right, and bump the exposure up a bit next time as suggested.

Thanks for the feedback! I think the upload from photobucket made it look darker. The original is lighter on my PC here, but looking at it, agree it could stand to be brightened a tad. I went B&W because honestly I could not get the colors to look right in the original RAW image. I'm positive it's due to being a novice with PP, so I threw in the towel on this one and went B&W.

LOL, I sold my 430exII yesterday. We don't have a white wall in our house, and every time I used it, the color cast was worse than without it.
