There have been a couple of post with potential buyers afraid to purchase a 7D because of the of problems being discussed here at POTN. In many of those posts the responses generally point to user error as a cause or a misunderstanding of the camera and it's functioning.

I thought I would poll the POTN community and see if we can get a better picture of what is really happening. I understand it is completely unscientific and totally relies on the honesty and integrity of the POTN community and some may have to supply an answer that points the finger inward, but it's the best an open forum can do i suppose..

So, be as honest as your conscience allows and choose a category that best describes your 7D experience.

My 7D has been excellent from day one. No question that the files need careful processing, but that's fine with me.

My 7D has been flawless. I thought there was a problem with the video because the video I downloaded to my computer was choppy on my computer. Thankfully it was computer error.

Mine has a defective popup flash bulb (can't use wireless flash commander!). I've turned it in to Canon and they'll be shipping it back in a couple of days, hopefully the issue is resolved.

Firmly in the Pizza Camp right now but a "serious" effort to collect empirical data could sway me in the long run...

I felt there was too much noise from day 1. Today I took the 7D to my dealer who agreed . They have sent it to Canon for appraisal.

I had a focusing issue with my 7d from day 1. I dropped it off at the NJ Canon service center. They fixed the AF, and calibrated and cleaned a few of my lenses for free (in three days time)! I used it on a trip to TX over the weekend, and haven't had a chance to upload any photo's yet. From what I could tell by zooming on the lcd, everything looks MUCH better.

There wasn't an option for "everyone should stop complaining". I do like pizza and it did take me a few weeks to learn to make the most of the AF system after not having shot pictures for years (last time was on film).

The internet is probably the worst thing to happen to Camera manufacturers in a long time. You can't seem to find a favorable review that doesn't have some glaring hole in it that makes you wonder whether you should get the camera or not and there's more than enough negative reviews to keep you busy for years.

My 7d is good, I get good shots. I'm pleased with it.

There are the complainers out there but I do agree that the internet has been bad for camera manufacturers, but on the other hand it's been great for camera users. Reviewers do tent to highlight the cameras soft areas, but that's the nature of reviewers. They are sort of like news reporters. If they are not reporting death and destruction it's a bad day for them. But with the internet there are so many sources of info, it sort of evens out. Look at the poll so far. There have been some real issues as well as some perceived issues, but also many with no issues.
