I have never had a problem with my 7D, I have been getting sharp photos from it since the day I bought it.

I like pizza :)

My 7D wouldn't recognize any working CF cards I tried. No bent pins (only one card had been in it, never taken out until it stopped working, would detect the card 1 out of 20 power cycles). Sent it in, they fixed it but never said what part they replaced, back as new :)

While some of the 7D issues are probably due to user error, or not taking the time to learn what is an admittedly complicated AF system compared to other non-1-series Canons, there are a certain number of respected photographers who have expressed concerns that RAW files from the 7D simply don't compare well with files from other Canons.

This might be a nice exercise to see how many "learned" the AF system and were subsequently happy, how many sent it to Canon (and they may well fall into the group who needed to learn the AF in the first place), etc., but regardless, I'm convinced something's amiss with the 7D that goes beyond learning to use its AF system. I've seen too many experienced photographers struggle to get simple center-point shots of still subjects with good contrast in good light that are sharp in comparison to 40D/50D and Rebels to think it's just "newbieness" that's leading to all the complaints.

Because I still have my 75-300 that I bought with my 300D ;)
When I use that lens, I do not expect good results and blame the lens when they are soft. I am saving for a 70-200 f/2.8 II.

haha excellent choice and a truly worthy upgrade
I've chosen a different approach. I upgraded lenses to L's first and now I am trying to concentrate on getting a new body before the summer :D

There wasn't an option for "everyone should stop complaining". I do like pizza and it did take me a few weeks to learn to make the most of the AF system after not having shot pictures for years (last time was on film).

The internet is probably the worst thing to happen to Camera manufacturers in a long time. You can't seem to find a favorable review that doesn't have some glaring hole in it that makes you wonder whether you should get the camera or not and there's more than enough negative reviews to keep you busy for years.

My 7d is good, I get good shots. I'm pleased with it.

Glad you get good shots from yours but consider if you also had grain and focus issues. You'd perhaps welcome the collective feedback and feel justified to question the manufacturer and expect them to bring the product to the point where it is fit for purpose.

Mine has been flawless. I hung back and read the manual while I let the battery get an initial charge so I didn't run in to any issues.

My camera says Canon and goes clickity clickity click.

Have to comment but did not vote yet. Have had the 7D for a while and have not have time to use it much. Had a few shots yesterday using one shot center focus point using 100-400 on an antelope in sagebrush. About half the filed with antelope in it. 3 shots all very soft. The next shot perfect. Coming from a 40D I think I still have a lot to learn. But figured the 3 should all be good. Still working on it!! Will vote after more experience with the camera. I think user error?

Mine is at New Jersey at this moment. My 24-105 that worked great on my 50D needed -20 micro adjustment and it was still back focusing on the7D. My other lenses also needed more adjustment but none were that bad.
