rudy_216 Senior Member 299 posts Joined Oct 2008 More info | Mar 16, 2010 21:25 | #7 If you want the 580EX as a master you will need to trigger the X-sync pin on the flash. You can do this with radio or cable and may be able to trigger it with an optical slave with the 7D setting off the optical slave. But the 7D will need to operate as a dumb flash with no pre-flash. So manual and low power operation.
