Yep...happened on just about every Canon camera ive ever had...peeling is a common side effect of using the camera alot... Nobody cares about your gear list...

After I get the dirty parts damp with the baby wipe I lightly scrub the nooks and crannies with an old toothbrush and wipe again with the baby wipe to remove the dirt. Works great! I "refurbish" gear with this method before I sell it, and it makes a big difference in the appearance. People will pay more if it looks almost new.

It's better to replace the bracelet than having to replace or repair the zoom rubber. I might give this a try

belile77 Hatchling 1 post Joined Dec 2006 More info | I used an alcohol hand sanitizer wipe on my 70-200 f4 with no damage at all to the rubber. Looks like new now.
