msowsun "approx 8mm" More info | Mar 17, 2010 21:00 | #3 Because the YN-465 has no optical slave, you will have to mount it on the camera and then use it trigger the YN-460 II. You can use ETTL or manual mode on the YN-465. The YN-460 has S1 and S2 settings for optical slave. If you use the YN-465 in Manual mode, set the YN-460 to S1 for straight manual flash. If you use the YN-465 in ETTL mode, set the YN-460 to S2 to ignore the ETTL preflash. ![]() 465 working ok but can't get 460 to flash.New batts, flashes ok with pilot. What should my camera settings be?Using a 450d

msowsun "approx 8mm" More info | Mar 18, 2010 10:47 | #7 Do you mean the 460 will not work if you put it on the camera? Camera settings don't matter. It should fire every time on the camera. If it doesn't, make sure the batteries are OK. You must use another flash mounted on the camera to flash, and then trigger the optical slave on the 460. Describe how you are doing it now and maybe we can see what the problem is. But it is possible the optical sensor is not working on your 460. new to this ,465 on camera, tried set to ttl then man,460 set to sp1 then sp2.Don't think i need to change settings in camera as 465 should trigger the 460.Brand Duracell batts. Both work ok on camera.
