Sunflares, I just cant get it to work!

How in the hell do you shoot mid day or into the sun and get that killer sun flare burst affect to work? I have tried every aperture and SS and it just dont work.

Photoshop has built in lens flares and suns. Not quite the same as what youre looking for i think, but i havent tried them all

Hi Bob,

My name is Dave and the picture you posted is one of mine. I try to shoot sun flares as much as I can! I find that anything over f16 generally works the best. The picture that you linked too was actually shot at the aperture. The only filter that I use is a UV filter. Also, this was an HDR image, a combination of 9 exposures from +5 to -5 in one step increments. You can check out some of my other flares here!
