Im sure for the purpose of posting them here they could be cropped in more using a non standard format to really showcase the images. I just kept them cropped for my galleries which allows a little room for printing/editing.

I do appreciate the kind words..

Matt... Awesome job and captures...i too leave a little room for my logo, watermark, title, etc... Really nice work..I wish I could get a game during the day!!!lol seems all of mine are late afternoon or evening.

Crop tighter???? With the exception of maybe the last, they have no room to crop. He did a nice job cropping IMO I would like to see how much more you could crop on the top 5..... 6 and 7 maybe a hair more.

I disagree, I would have cropped differently but that's personal opinion.

The crop above takes away his position......is he a position player....or a pitcher? While I appreciate tight crops at times....sometimes they take too much information away from the picture and the game. IMO

I feel my original crops allow for more specific cropping as necessary for publication.. The edit above might be best for the story but if I cropped the original to that it leaves only one option. It could easily use a non standard size to more of a square format but I just left them as edited for MaxPreps... leaving wiggle room for different print sizes and parent cropping

Wow! Color, depth, focus, exposure ... all completely nailed. Beautiful work.

Help me buy a 300 f/2.8. Is that the lens that helped on the images?

Crops? Just fine. Change nothing!!!

hopefully some baseball regulars can chime in but what focal length/lens do you find most optimal?

I agree, I think his original crop was much better.

I think you'll find in many other threads about baseball, that the 300mm f2.8 and 400mm f2.8 along with the 70-200mmf2.8 are THE primary lenses for most outdoor sports of all levels. Just as important is positioning, timing, and knowledge of the sport...hope this helps

Scott~
