Here are 3 images of 2 different Pine Martens (1 has a very blind face and head) that have been frequenting the bird feeders at the Algonquin Provincial Park Visitors' Centre. They were both eating black sunflower seeds and suet in large quantities.

Seeing an photographing these agile members of the weasel family was a first for me.

We were restricted to trying to photograph them from the observation deck making the angles very steep and allowing no options for clean shots.

Some branches were cloned out in all three images to provide a clearer view of the animals

1. Climbing along a pipe which supports a big feeder

2. Lighter coloured individual. It had dropped to the ground to finish off the some missed bits of suet.

3. Better head turn from the first fellow

Excellent shots Stephen, #3 does it for me! I've never seen this animal in the wild, you captured it well.

Great pine martin pictures Stephen. They are not an easy find. I was finally able to capture my first pine martin pictures this past February. It was also the first time I had actually seen one. It was very exciting. Well done.

Thank you TX, Steve and Tamara. I would have loved to have been closer and at eye level but visitor's can't normally access the back of the building except for from the elevated deck that affords a wonderful view of the valley below.

I have a set of Marty Stouffers Wild America and just last week watched an episode of the Pine Marten . Mean little critters ! Didn't know they will eat a squirrel if they catch them which is a favorite on their menu !
