They're gearing up for the Open House and Airshow this weekend so we went down to shoot some of the aircraft arriving that will be (mostly) on static display:

We usually start at Tucson International to shoot AZ ANG Falcons departing as a "warm up"

Shooting more on Friday March 19 which promises to be even busier as only about 1/4 of the scheduled aircraft showed up.
Stay tuned for more...

All of the above were shot with the new 500mm f/4L IS except the AWACS which was shot with a 70-200mm f/2.8L IS

C&C Always Welcome!

Nice shots, that's a pretty wide formation for the T-Birds.

Thanks...

The TBirds were really only in a loose "arrival" formation.

They pounded the airspace for about 30 minutes just checking things out in a kind of casual way.

All very nice, looks like it's going to be a good show. I've never seen that MiG before.

Absolutley love the AWACS. I know it wasn't with the new lens, but you seldom see pics and I have family who flew them, so they have somewhat more meaning to me.

Thanks Roger. Yeah, that MiG was new to all of us too but Jim Wilson seems to think it's actually from Tucson. <Shrug .. Dunno>

Nic shots Jay. I've never seen a two seater F16 before, was it some sort of trainer?

Thank You. No, not attending the show itself. It's hard enough not to duplicate shots when you're with a dozen other shooters let alone 50-70,000 others!
