Alrite guys and gals so I recently purchased a 50D, I shot a couple of pictures in Raw and it says its the wrong file type or something. I also shoot with an XT and Camera Raw opens those images fine. What can be the problem here ?
Thanks in advance

Yes, your camera raw is out of date. If you use Photoshop, then simply go to the Help menu, and select Updates. It should detect that you need to update. If you use Lightroom, go the Help menu, and select "Check for updates".

Go to adobe and update to the latest ACR plugin.

Whether this solves your problem depends on whether you have a version of PSCS that is late enough to support the version of ACR for your camera.
Here is yesterday's reply to the daily question:

Go back to film! ;) ;)

Maybe we need a banner (not even a sticky) at top of fourm saying "RAW problems with Photoshop? Go to Adobe and try updating ACR!"
I think I got about 25% of my post count on replying to questions like this.
