I have an EOS 500D, Next month I am traveling to the Philippines on Holiday. A great oppertunity to get to know the camera. If anyone has any advice or tips to pass on they would be greatrly apreciated.

And if you are not planning on bring a laptop with you I recommend you purchase a couple extra memory cards. Theres nothing wrong with having too much memory cards. You can take 50000 pictures the more the better flickr

Thank you where are you gonna stay? i suggest do a research on the places you wanna go.. Beaches I think are gonna be busy since it's holy week on the 1st week of april. Good choice of place to travel btw 500d/Rebel T1i and 18-55 kit lens
