You can search the forums for "Yosemite" and you're bound to find hundreds of posts and topics that cover this, but it never gets old.

My brother and I went to Yosemite last weekend so that he could finish up a biology project for school. After driving through the snow (in a Corvette) we finally made it to the Big Oak Flat entrance only to be turned around because I didn't have M+S tires on the Vette. These "mud + snow" tires gave us an opportunity to drive the LONG way to the Hwy 140 entrance at Arch Rock. Once in the park we started clicking away and came up with some gems.

Enjoy

1 - what a Vette looks like after driving through the snow and crappy roads

2 - the clouds moving by the mountain tops with snow on them, couldn't pass that up
IMAGE: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4061/4437675158_17ec899e4c_o.jpg

3 - first "successful" attempt at spot metering

4 - Bridalveil Falls with a CPL helping the sky be more blue

5 - even a 70-200 f/4 can do landscape shots...the Tunnel View

6 - taking it all in

7 - a B&W using the 70-200 of the Tunnel View

8 - an awesome surprise on our way out were these guys. they were very calm and let me get within 15' to take their pictures

Very nice series, all exposed very well. It appears you used the CPL very well, as your sky is nicely dark, but not overdone as sometimes happens with CPL. Sure hate to see the Vette in that condition, wash that baby pronto.

Nice shots.

I'll be spending 3 days in Yosemite in October and can't wait. We're planning our time carefully.

Great photos. Looks like the perfect time of the year to visit Yosemite. Snow capped mountains, and beautiful skies.

I guess the shot of Silver Strand didn't load for me earlier. I like that one a lot! The afternoon light is always good there
