From a local flying field yesterday (friday). There is a big scale meeting this weekend and he was just practicing for the following days ahead.
Unfortunately he had an engine cut during the flight, so the shot of it on finals has ZERO prop blur, and I know how much you all hate that, so I thought I'd better explain it first!
And as these scale nutters take so LOOOONG to do anything, it would have been dark before it was flying again!, I left after he touched down.......perfectly I might add.
This is a complete scratch build from the ground up, everything is a one off, including the glass engine cowl which he moulded from a hand carved plug. These guys spend massive amounts of hours on them. It is based on a full size New Zealand owned one apparently, so the same rego# is also on the full scale.
I wish I got a shot of the cockpit, outstanding workmanship, but he was messing around assembling it all so I just kept out of his way. They take this very seriously!!
I did get two other scale planes as well but haven't gone through them yet, I'll stick them up when I do if you like.
This club is on the inside of an old horse racecourse and as such the rails are still there, which get in the way of clean backgrounds.
Not sure if the temp is a little hot in these?. The yellow is a mustardy looking yellow, but I just don't know for sure if there is still a little warmth/hue issue going on? It was late in the day.
