that's lovely

most unusual
usually it's the bikes in focus (the idea anyway) and the rest blurred

love the light on the tree behind and the colours of the blurred bikes

Marie.. what would my posts be without you!!

Thank you for finding my old posts and reminding me that I posted them!!

This was a really fast thought process snapshot... quickly set the slow shutterspeed... framed.. and click!!

I like the way you can see the transition from where they lean into the one curve and switch over to lean the other way for the next curve.

I'm glad you said that
it's probably what I saw and liked very much but didn't realise it so much until you mentioned it.

you were in a good place
it's a very twisty bend

Great spot to take shots of bikes and nice shot! As a bike rider though I would like to see the second rider as the focus point, that would make it an excellent pic. I note you said it was a 'grab' shot, so excellent effort!

We old fossils don't have that problem as much since all we ever had was MF! ;-)a I like the blurred 1st rider. That looks like a location to put in your "Backgrounds" file!

hey... I've only been using AF for the last few months!!! (as long as I've had my DRebel) I'm still fighting with my camera to get it to do what I want it to.

The boy with the Mustang has a nice black Suzuki beast, and we will be heading back here in a few days with it as well. The first series with the Mustang will also be used to figure out where we can get better shots.. and we will go back again.

The guy's father has a nice old red Fiat Spider Cabrio, with a matching red Ducati to go with it. As soon as we can co-ordinate it.. a few more shots will be coming here... ;)

This is a very common sight here along the "sea to sky highway". The highway is a long winding road that runs along the edge of the Pacific ocean here in Vancouver (BC). There are mountain and ocean views the whole way, and it winds, gains, and loses elevation.

What a great picture.

If you're going to rent a car, it's worth it just to take a day trip along this highway. The sea to sky highway (highway 99) runs from Vancouver city to Whistler (and beyond). The road itself is BEAUTIUL, but Whistler has been rated among the top 5 most beautiful ski resorts in the world (and in the summer it's a hiker's paradise). It's about a 2 hour drive from Vancouver city. It's all highway (only 1 city -Squamish- worth checking out) with LOTS of beautiful areas (waterfalls, hiking trails, etc) to stop at along the way, and several "viewpoints" where you can pull off the highway (gravel or paved "pits") where you can take some pictures of the mountains.

If you pull off at any of these viewpoints and wait 10 minutes, you'll get some fantastic pictures of biker gangs (it's a common area for them to ride). There are lots of places I could reccommend that you go see (depending on how long you're here for), but if you're willing to pay to rent a car for a day, drive this highway (be sure to stop in Squamish to check out "The Chief, where people hike and rockclimb -and sometimes hanglide- RIGHT off the highway. Park at Shannon Falls (beautiful waterfall). You can't miss it. BIIIG rock, opposite of all the little stores/eating areas (not a big city, and most of it borders the highway).

Then what am I good for? NOTHING AT ALL! hahaha

You'll love it here, and if they live in Whistler, you just might want to bring an extra memory card for that camera of yours (depending on how much exploring you want to do). And the only way to get there from the airport, is along the sea to sky! Wheeeee!!
