Yes, another Patriot aircraft. (These guys spent more time aloft than anything else on Thursday and Friday. I guess when Uncle Sugar is buying your JP, go burn it...)

More good ones.

C17 Globemaster III Arrives

Looks like there's some significant middle age spread there!

Exxellent as always Jay. I like the T Birds shot, a different perspective to usual. I would love to see a B-17, can't be too many of them still airworthy today.

Thanks.

Don't quote me on this but I think there are 14 flyable B-17s world wide. 12 in the US and 2 in Europe.

Unfortunately, I don't think that there are any "down under." Too bad given the AU/NZ passion for historical aircraft.

All very nice, Patriots are based around the corner from me, was once offered a chance to go for a ride with them several years ago, but waited to long to follow up on it.

Great job getting the prop blur on both in the refueling shot.

For once I'd like to see a bad shot you took, just so I know you are human.

Thanks Roger... BTW, I met Paul Schwafel on Friday. He was out at the SE corner of DM with us shooting arrivals.

Definately an amazing aircraft. Something that big shouldn't be that nimble, eh?

That was a tough one. Wind was blowing like crazy so I ended up resting the bottom edge of my lens hood on the passenger-side rearview mirror of my truck! Necessity is a Mother and all that.

As for my human status, I prefer to keep the illusion going, thanks!

Thanks very much. The B-17 is a personal favorite. Looking forward to the Collings Foundation visit to AZ next month!

Nice shots, as always, Jay. And thank you for finally identifying that massive beast of a C-17 for me. I see them in the air around here ALL the time, but haven't managed to ID them til now; even got buzzed by one at a BBQ this evening (with only the 17-50mm on :( )
