Nice! Man, I'm trying to decide on a 2nd lens and this is one of them, along with the MK 1 version and some primes...what made you decide on this one and were there others?

Tough question. Until I used a borrowed 70-200 v2 for a day, I was in the boat of "how can they really make a zoom in this range and aperture any better?". I always thought that the v1 performed like a rock star. I was never overly happy with 180mm-200mm at 2.8, but it was what it was. A great performer in this zoom range with 2.8. Then I borrowed the 70-200 v2 and was amazed. They got it f/4 IS sharp wide open. I had to sell a Zeiss Distagon and the old 70-200 2.8 non-IS to fund this, so gave up my personal shooting (landscape w/ Distagon) for what I use a lot on the paid gig side of the house. Business before pleasure. That being said, I'm really happy with the decision so far. This thing is a beast of a lens.

I live in NY, so pay tax on J&R, B&H and Adorama, the only vendors in the states that seem to have them in stock. I was lucky enough to find one on FM.

That being said, please support Adorama if you can :) They are offering 8% as well with bing, so you get it for $2299

Adorama has an eBay storefront. So yeah, you can get 8% cashback. ;)
