I need a travel sized sturdy tripod that i can take around europe.
Needs to support a 5d Markii with a 70-200 F4 and 580ex flash.
Does anyone have any good recommendations?
Thanks

I carry an old Gitzo 1228 Mk II tripod but I end up using a Gorillapod Focus most of the time. The Gorillapod will support a 5D Mk II with that lens.

Even the Feisol which has had +/- reviews here is about $300. Perhaps a used one? What's the head you have? Jay

If you just want light and smaller size, there are many options. If you want something that can fold up small enough to pack in a camera bag or luggage, you have more limitations. Other than leg length, what have you found to be the biggest down side of the Gorillapod Focus?

OP - I have a Slik Sprint Pro for travel. The tripod police are cringing right now, but that's okay with me. It folds up under 19", comes with a QR head and is light. I took it out to Nevada last week and it performed pretty well. It's obviously not as good or stable as my normal set up but I make some concessions for traveling. The combo is light to me.
