Does anyone know about any airport restrictions for carrying this bag with a tripod attached on a plane? Would they not allow the tripod? I have a flight next week and am debating about whether to bring my tripod or not...

i think that all depends on the airline. airport and TSA security. Some had no problem walking in w/ it... while i heard others had to check them in because it look like a weapon.

The TSA does not directly prohibit tripods or monopods.

The airline, however, may say otherwise.

You will love it! I got mine not too long ago and it is a very well built bag with tons of space.

i couldnt decide if i wanted a carry all for location shoots that might not get on an international flight, or a smaller case that might not carry everything i want locally. i normally use a lowepro photo trekker aw2 that ive taken international, and it barely fits everything i need as a carry all locally.

Has anyone tried taking an airport security bag onto an international flight? I'm trying to decide between the Airport Security and Airport International. I don't fly often, but it might be handy to have a case that I can carry on. I would use it for up to 30 weddings a year, and maybe one flight a year.

My gear list is here, but basically I need a bag for two large gripped bodies (D700), 16-35, 24-70, and 70-200, Sigma 50 F1.4, and four flashes. The 16-35 and 24-70 are both a bit bigger than the Canon versions. If I could fit extra bits and pieces, like my three skyports in their case, that might be handy.

Any thoughts on security vs international?

I have not tried taking an Airport Security on an international flight.

However,

I ordered an Airport Security and upon receipt it looked rather large for carry on luggage. Upon further research, I found that the Airport Security external dimensions did not include the wheels or handles whereas the Airport International did.

Food for thought.

Does anyone know if a 550/580EX flash fit in the international, standing on its end?
