Went out this morning following our snow last night and there was a pair of mallards and a pair of Canada geese on the lake. Boy are wild ducks skittish.
1.) Firstly the ducks. I took the shots of the ducks and geese at the same settings and the shots of the ducks look like they were shot at ISO 6400 or something. There is horrible noise and CA in the duck shots.
Still learning here, but what would cause the horrible CA and noise in the duck shot compared to the geese shots? I know the heavier crop will increase noise but where does the CA come from? Because of the blown out snow in combination with *some* color in the picture (the duck and sticks in the background)? I noticed most of the CA is green in color so I'm thinking it could be from the green duck + blowing stuff out.
2.) Same settings as the shot above.
