A couple of very nice images. I wish the owl was as large as the turkey . Love the colour and comp of the turkey!

I dunno Mike. If the owl were as big as the Turkey I'd be afraid of it...and where would they find burrows large enough?

Seriuosly I have no idea why I even had a copy that was so small. Here is the normal sized version.

Chuck

Great shots Chuck! I might have to go down for round 2 tomorrow and see if I can capture the burrowing owl in the grass. :D

You mean there wasn't anyone flying radio controlled airplanes when you went there before? Every time I go they are flying.
As to where they go I guess they go to where ever it is they nest. I know there is a nest site on a golf course in Davis with several pairs. I believe this is only a wintering site but I could be wrong. I hope they haven't been going in the bellies of hawks.

Chuck

Thanks for the info, no RC airplane when I went last. Yea, lets hope they were not all on the menu for the hawks. There was that one Red Tail last time I was out there.

not to Hi-Jack, I have never taken pics of Birds (probably going to change) are the burrowing owls, the kind that you see in prarie dog towns? used to see owls in a big town standing on top of the burrows. I am going back to shoot the Dogs and the owls if there are any left.

Very nice shots. The turkey pic's a wall hanger for sure.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
