20D - Nil | POTN Strap - One

Next weekend I shall leave the comfort of my pc and the POTN forum and head to Hong Kong to buy a long awaited 20D - So, for for now, 20D 'nil'.

But, 'one' to the POTN strap which flew over to China and arrived yesterday!

Living in China can be hard at times, especially not knowing the language. And this works both ways. The postman here cannot understand English addresses (and why should they!) and they often don't know Pinyin - Chinese in English words.

So, I want a strap! The ordering page doesn't except Chinese. Dilemma?? I think not. A quick mail to Phil and he tells me not to worry. I send him a jpeg with the address in Chinese (see below) and he grabs it, whacks the address on for me and hey presto, it arrives!

A big thank you to Phil, who goes to all lengths to get the strap to every corner of the globe. Now all I need is the camera......Only 6 days now!!

I certainly do.

I even found one of the so-called "sharpie" pens.

I was helping my work out, at a local Kids Fair, the Prime Minister turned up, I RAN and grabbed my 20D turned on, and shot this:

Only upon looking at the marker pen she used to write her name up, I realised it was the "sharpie" pen.
(BTW, bad shot, I was in AV mode, and would normally have Manual mode, and 1/60th)

Wow, I'm impressed that it got there so fast!! I thought that one would be a couple of weeks at least.

Well I thought I'd have the camera first too!! It was a damn speedy delivery.
