The magnolia tree in our front yard is in full bloom right now. Decided to go take a few pics of it. The stamen (I think thats what its called) isn't as sharp as I would have liked, but my wife was holding the branch down and the wind was blowing a bit. C&C on this shot would be appreciated.

I had a go at close up flower shots, and found it difficult to get focus.

I wonder how people do it so well, particularly when you are outside, with a breeze and so on. Or do people pick the flowers and take them indoors! Just wondered...:)

I like the picture, by the way, but as you said, it's out of focus in the middle. I like the idea of the "important bits" nestled away inside the petals...

Yeah, unfortunately I couldn't keep it steady enough to get it sharper. Plus, I was handholding.

Tripod for the camera shake and be patient for that brief moment of calm. Also a remote trigger helps too when getting extremely close up with longer exposures. I love the composition though, Give it another shot. Macro can be tricky. Don't give up.
