My first time shooting a baby that's not my own :)

Luckily, he was an absolute champ, he just sat there and smiled for a full hour while his parents were jumping around me, making silly faces. Quite impressive for a 6 months old kid with a complete stranger (and all his gear) in the room.

Using a white wall in their living room as a background I placed him on two of my fleece blankets from Ikea. Soft, cheap and machine washable - perfect for babies!

Speedlite 540EZ in a reflective umbrella camera left, aimed at the wall. Lastolite Lumen8 (400w/s strobe) camera right through a 24" Lastolite Ezybox. 580EXII on camera w. Ray Flash at F/128 as slight fill and to get subtle catchlights.

C&C most welcome!

These are too adorable for words! I agree that #2 is laugh-worthy - not because it's a bad photo, mind you, but the "angle". :) Great shots!

Cute little guy! These are great! His skin looks a little pink in the color versions, maybe you could tone down the magenta from his skin just a tad.

+1 for #2. Looks like a diaper ad shot. What an adorable baby. Love how his tongue hangs out when he smiles.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - he was absolutely adorable, I hope to have more clients as easy as he was :)

He was rather pinkish, I already desaturated the color versions a bit, but I think your're right, the magenta could use some looking after...

What an expressive baby! Love them - agree about the pink tones though.
