I've decided to sell my elinchrom d-lite4 kit but will be keeping my 2 100cm square rotalux softboxes to use with a couple of Kacey dual speedlite brackets. Now I'm sure there will be times where I don't want to take the big softboxes so I've been considering a couple of options for a more portable kit.

I'm looking at the following:

Keeping the two Portalite Softboxes from the d-lite kit. Not the easiest to set up, but would be the cheapest option as I wouldn't have to purchase anything extra.

Picking up one to two of the Elinchrom 70cm square Rotalux softboxes. I'll already have the brackets for the bigger boxes, and I love how quick they are to put together. More expensive than the Portalite solution, but less than the ezyboxes.

Last options is one to two of the 24" ezyboxes. I've never used them myself but I've seen them recommended a fair bit and I'm likring the size they collapse to and the various diffusers they have available, but these would be the most expensive option. Now, if I were to purchase these instead of the Elinchrom options, wouldn't really be able to use them with a studio kit like the Style RX lights I want to pick up down the road.

Right now I'm leaning towards the 70cm square boxes, but would love my fellow POTNers opinions.

No f/8 but what we make

Have you looked at the Cheetah Qbox 24 as an alternative to the Ezybox? It might be a better option.

I have a 24" Ezybox and it works great with both speedlite and larger strobes. You can get a ton of different speedrings for them - I have one for my speedlite and one for my Bowens fit strobes. A nice and portable box that produces great light - here's a shot with a speedlite in the Ezybox:

And the (pinkish, I know) ham here is with a 400ws strobe through the Ezybox:
