seems a bit too bright to me the sun behind the buildings but i really like the sky and just the general scene...
i dont know nyc that well, is that a walkway 'above' the bridge you took that picture from? (i cant imagine you climbing up to the top of the bridge with your camera gear:)

Thanks bfinta. The sun is def bright and it was the reason why i went with bracketing on my camera. Didnt even go out with that intention but i wanted to capture as much of what i was seeing as possible. Thats the brooklyn bridge im on looking towards the south side of manhattan. What you dont believe im spider man :p The pedestrian walkway elevates enough to a point where i was able to raise my camera and make it seem like i was standing on a beam. I love changing the perspective of things which have been photgraphed a million times over.

I would be interested to see the shots you used to create these. I like the fact that they don't look "HDR" or more correctly, look like the tone mapped creations that has become the "normal" HDR shot these days.

Cameras:Canon 1Ds Mark III, Canon 1Ds Mark II, Canon 40D, Canon SD1400
Lenses: Canon 300 f/2.8L IS, 70-200 f/2.8L IS, 180 f/3.5L Macro, 17-40 f/4L, 50mm f/1.8. Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM
Other:Gitzo GT3541 w/ Acra Swiss Z1 w/ RRS Lever Lock, Speedlite 580EX II, 1.4x TC, RRS L & Lens Plates, Lee Filter System Flickr (external link)

Yup i was trying to avoid at all cost looking like an over the top toned map image. Nothing wrong with them as i like them myself but with this shot i was trying to go for exactly what i was seeing that day. I will load up the shots i used and post them up for you to see. Three shot were taken at -2, 0, +2 i believe.

i feel htough i could have benifited from more frames. But shooting hand held i was limited to just three. If i had a tri-pod i would have gone for 9 instead. I think it would have given me an even better shot.

I still find it amazing that with all the technology we have, the human eye is still the epitome of a "visual recording". Pretty cool if ya ask me.

I'm looking at this on a monitor I don't trust completely, so I may be off here, but the image looks pretty cool to me. Would a little warming be in order?

Your right Gary i went for the cool look as its what it looked like to me. Not much in terms of warm coloring was there outside. Although i could play with it and warm it up a bit for you.
