Is there any advantage changing from the 450D to the 50D I shoot mainly landscapes and cityscapes? I use a Canon 17-55 2.8 and a Sigma 10-20 3.5 for most of my shots.

Uh, probably not.

Main advantages of the 50D over 450D:

Bigger grip
Bigger viewfinder
6.3fps vs 3.5
ISO 3200 + Expanded 6400-12800 vs 1600 on the XSi
bigger, nicer LCD and second top LCD.
Control layout
Faster and more accurate AF.

So it might be a little nicer to work with and is better for low light and action. None of that really sounds like it would show up in landscape or cityscape shots.

Thanks that gives me a good idea I forgot to mention I like to shoot cityscapes in low light so the 50D is starting to sound more interesting factoring in the other points you have made, and I am prone to shooting the odd hockey game when my step son is playing.

Are you shooting handheld cityscapes at high ISO? Those should typically be done at base ISO on a tripod - in which case, no benefit to the 50D.

The 50D should be better for indoor action, but that also would require an appropriate lens.
