I decided to head out with my gear and rollerblades to see what i could get. I don't typically shoot around town so any tips would be great!

Hey now, not everyone all at once . I guess I'll go first then.

#1 - I found the note interesting/different

#2 - I liked the pop of the color

#3 - I liked the worn look of the sign

#4 - Color is nice, but the freeway is almost distracting

#5 - I like the lane changes and turn signals that ended up in this exposure

Anyone else?

which lens did you take with you?
1>I love grungy looking images and this fits the bill perfectly. I love locks (do not ask me why)
3>My favorite! maybe for the reason listed above? unsure.. I love that it's slightly tilted, grungy, and crisp photo with good wb
4>sky is gorgeous, I like how I can see the cars , makes me feel like going home at the end of a long day, which is what I just did. Also it brings the beauty of the sky back to reality.. which is always good. That huge gorgeous thing is above us all day and night!
5> I am so jealous of these kinds of pictures because I can never..ever...ever do them right, haha. it's beautiful. I love how smooth, yet broken up it seems.. almost pattern.

1 - 3 are nice and interesting observations (#2 could have been cropped a tad tighter). Right exposure, DOF and focus.

#4 is not very exciting. The colours are nice but there is not enough to make it special.

#5 another road. Technically very good but not memorable.

Thanks for the comments! I took shots with my 10-22 and my 50 f/1.8, but all these were taken with the 50 @f/1.8 since it was getting dark. The freeway picture is 1 of about 14 that I took. I played with the settings and vantage point until I finally got a result I liked (30 seconds @ f/16).

Yea, I have the same thoughts as you. #1-3 are unique, so that makes them much more interesting then another sunset. Thanks for the opinions.
