When doing video myself, rarely would I run into a wedding where it was as bad as this. What's funny is these guys would actually look back and see they were in the way but blocked the camera anyway.

I try to avoid them though. They look like beginner photographers to me. As soon as I hear that the couple is working with a video guy, I always tell them that they need to make some decisions and communicate them to both of us. There are moments like the processional when both of us want the same small bit of real estate. The couple has to decide who it is that's going to get it. I don't even care which of us do, but everyone has to be on the same page. I've never had anyone say that photos are second to video and I'm always able to work respectfully with those guys. I just wish they could turn those damn lights down. Robert Wayne Photography

With those lights going up there, yeah, the over the shoulder shots during the vows came out real charming. He turned on five high powered lights all around the dance floor for the first dance. It looked like it was 2:00 in the afternoon out there. Some great atmosphere. Sheeesh. Robert Wayne Photography

So the couple paid money for a videographer and didn't care if you both worked together to deliver your services? It looked like it was 2:00 in the afternoon out there. Some great atmosphere. Sheeesh. Yes, the video lights really kill the mood. But so do the machine gunning photographers with their lightening bolts.
