A few HDR's from NYC

C&C welcome. I'm new to HDR and have probably done only about 10 so far!

1) View of NYC(Manhattan) from Jersey city

The first one might look better if you do a little curves adjustment to it to add back a little contrast. Last one is nice, but can go a little further to bring the outside down some. Several suffer a little rotational problem. Not a bad set.

Thanks for the comment! I'll try out the changes mentioned.

THe first one is a nice shot, here are some rough edits, along the lines of Gary's suggestions. Crop, curves, straightening and distortion correction, and a little tweaking of the color balance. I had to JPEG compress the crap out of the image to be able to post it, so it is probably a little soft, blocky, etc. but you get the idea.

The last image has nice control of the tonemapping process, but the outdoors are blown and need some more data. You've done a good job at keeping haloes, etc. under control, but, as with most tonemapped images, they need a little PP to sharpen them and correct for color shifting , etc.

Keep at it! I think I;ve used my entire monthly allotment of "etc." in this post.

Thanks for the suggestion. Personally, I prefer a bit more subtle colors but the contrast change looks awesome. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

With apologies to the OP if he doesn't like my versions, here are the first and last of his series above with my humble adjustments...rotation​, curves, sharpen and vibrance.

I think your images are well done with the exception of tilt and the lack of a bit of punch.

Hey Gene,
no offense at all..I LOVE all these versions..gives me more ideas and ways to experiment and learn.
I can see that my pics lacked that punch factor!
