I just noticed Best Buy has the 7D on sale with 36 month 0% financing... I was on the fence before about getting it when it just came out, but it was winter time here and I wouldnt use it much, but its looking very attractive now with 0% financing. I dont need to finance it, but why not at that rate!?

Ive been reading alot on the site and elsewhere about the camera, and Im getting really excited. I do have one question. Will it be noticeably better than my 40D for the casual walk in the park or am I mainly gaining on it handling higher ISOs, HD Video, and a nice AF system? Planning to start wedding photos this summer for a couple friends, so I would like to get a grasp on the video ASAP.

Thanks in advance!

Guys,

I purchased the 7D(28-135mm kit) last week when they had the 24 month financing going on. Saw, the 36 month today, went to best buy and they switched it for me. Over all I am a happy camper!

I just made the switch and I love it so far. I mostly shoot my kids sports so I wanted the fast AF and 8fps. I'm not sure if it is because of the move up from 8MP to 18MP but the difference in the images is unreal! So, to answer your question, yes it will be noticeably different, especially at higher ISO's. The new AF system brought my keeper rate way up also. I haven't tried the video yet.

Onto the next issue, even though the 0% finance sounds great, this is still a toy and toys should never be financed. It will count as a hard inquiry on your credit rating , as well as an unsecured credit line  (like a credit card) which is maxed out . Any one of these would lower your score by themselves, add them together and it's not pretty. just not worth it for $2,000.

Good luck,

Mike

I was going to buy from B&H yesterday (because i really wanted body only), but ended up picking the kit up at a store. Granted I didn't use the financing, I'm happy i didn't wait for the camera (also I got reward zone points :p)

While poking around today, I came across this:

Congrats on the purchase! Enjoy

I'm sorta new to the forum and don't know all the ettiquette but I don't think you are supposed to post some else's photos...just use a link.
BTW that guy just traded in all his Canon gear for Nikon. From what it sounds like he was given a sweet deal from Nikon (free gear + cash?) which really takes away any credibilty to his "independent reviews".

switching canonfieldreview to nikonfieldreview :) (With all the gear from Nikon, I'd never touch a Canon again if they told me to).

Back to the OP, 7D = win.

Often times you can find a 10% off coupon floating around the internet for Best Buy which helps a lot! My state sales tax is 6% , and I sold the kit lens for almost $300, so it wasn't bad for a local buy.

Awe... I purchased mine without any financing. :( I will be paying it all off this billing cycle. Grr... I hate interest!

Also, I purchased it off Newegg so no sales tax :)

I had a 10% Off coupon when I bought my 7D from them. They would not honor it, the coupons are for 10% off the Regular Price and not the Sale Price. I told the store manager, " well sell it to me for the Regular price and honor the coupon! ", he would not do it. Actually my Coupon was for 12% it was in a Best Buy Rewards Club mailing.

Reg Price - $1899
Sale Price - $1799

I live in Maryland ( 6% Sales Tax ), I am 30 minutes minutes from Best Buy in Delaware ( No Sales Tax ) and bought it there. So that saved me about $108.
