Photos capture using Kwik Camo or blinds

Does anyone here have any photos they capture using the Kwik Camo or any other blind for that matter?

Here is a pic of a blind I made for Ruffed Grouse, along with one of the pics I took from the blind.

I made the blind out of natural materials - primarily by making two small stacks of stones. I used some branches to span the stones, then draped a small piece of camo material from the branches. I would stick the lens out thru the bottom of the camo material. Of course, I had to lay down flat on the ground behind the blind or I would be seen, as the blind was only about 18 inches tall. As long as I didn't move or rustle around it worked out very well.

The important factor was to get to the blind and hide behind it before the grouse would show up to drum. I had to be in the blind very early in the morning - long before first light, as grouse get to their drumming locations while it is still dark. If you disturb wildlife on your way into the blind, you could end up with a wasted day, as animals sometimes don't return to the area again.

Really nice photo. I just order the Kwik Camo and will hopefully be able to try it out this weekend. I went to a spot in VA where there's a Red-head WPs colony and I got some decent shots but I want to capture some even better photos of them. I see you shot at f1.3...what kind of 400mm lens is that?

Actually, I shot that at f3.5. Maybe you saw "f1:3.5", which I suppose is technically the correct way to say it. It's a 400mm f2.8 lens, the lens I use for over 80% of all my images.

Maybe firefox exif reader is acting up 'cause it shows this.

Everything is correct except the aperture.

Most of my gamebird images are taken from blinds. There are a few that I've gotten from my car, and a few I've walked up on, but I'd say at least 70% are from blinds.

Good question about the shutter noise. It seems to have no affect on gamebirds at all. Waterfowl is different - wild ducks are often freaked out by the shutter noise, and it has cost me several excellent opportunities for great duck images. But then some very wild ducks are not bothered by it at all. They're fickle!

Cool. I plan to go out tomorrow and give the Kwik Camo a workout.
