anyone use Blue / Yellow polarizer?

a local camera store was clearing out a bunch of stuff and i picked up a Blue / Yellow polarizer for 2 dollars....

seems to just add a tint of blue or yellow depending on how you rotate it

anyone know what this could be used for?

Try it on something that will reflect like a buildings windows or a car.
I have the set that I occasionally used for a special effect with film. With PS, I don't find much use for it anymore.

I think it's for adding a bit of blue or yellow depending on how you rotate it.

I don't know how well it works as a polarizer, and that is an effect that it is very hard to match with post processing, but color changes are easy to accomplish in post. I still use a polarizer. I never use filters for the color effects any more.

Play with it and see if you like it.

It may possibly be a bit similar to the Singh-Ray Gold-N-Blue polarizer in terms of effect. If so, you *may* need to make a few adjustments in post (WB and Tint)...what you see in the VF may not be what you see in the captured image. Shooting with film is another story...what you see is what you get and no other adjustments would be necessary. But with digital, you most likely will need to make the adjustments. ok so i tried it out... it turns all reflections off non metallic surfaces either yellow or blue depending on how you turn it
