Don't ever sell yourself short. I've seen your work and I think your photographs are very good. I think you could have done just as well as the wedding photog. When you act like you know what you are doing, you exude confidence and people will believe in you. Besides digital photography is "free" -- you can take a couple hundred pictures and get 10 to 20 that will be very good to exceptional.

I sold myself short doing product photography not long ago. I didnt realize just how long it would take for this particular shoot and wasnt completely clear that they wanted the entire collection done, not just a handful of pieces (jewelry) and ballparked too short. It ended up taking 5 days longer to complete but while learned a lot...I only got paid for half a day, which is what I originally thought it would take.

write everything down.
