I've used the "rule of thirds" for years, but this one is new to me.

I came across this recently and I'm curious if anyone here uses this to decide upon composition?

Sorry but I think the golden ratio and methods like this are pseudo-scientific at best.

In other words, somebody is essentially trying to re-phrase "rule of thirds". Same with that "golden whatever" thing.

Though, this one is funny!

If you look at the examples, it shows it is a bit different from rule of thirds.

Having seen examples of images that have been cropped using the rule of diagonals, I have to say that I find them quite appealing.

All I need to do now is find a tool for use in Photoshop that will aid that diagonal cropping process.

It's cool, but i find it way easier to visualize rule of thirds in the field.

Most golden-ratio articles just consist of people trying desperately to make the photo fit their rules. Confirmation bias and all that.

I wonder which is the real truth here?

Is there something about images composed in this way that really draws our attention to some point within the image or is it all poppycock? ;)

I recently discovered this online as well. I have been trying to crop my images with this in mind and feel it has helped.

I found this crop tool that makes it easier.

I have to agree. It's just someone trying to get their 15 minutes of fame....and apparently, they have.
