Hello there ,

Im in a position to buy brand new Kenko Pro300DGX 1.4x and 2x converters for £260 .

What I am just asking is if they will work with a 100-400L and a 1D Mk1 ?

I have read the many pages on tele-converters , but there doesnt seem to be anything to answer this question .

Thanks Jamie

They should be fine, don't see why they wouldn't work.

The 1.4x will only cut light and effective aperture to f/8 on the long end of the 100-400L so you should be fine, because the 1D's will AF with even an f/8 lens.

But the 2x will cause erratic AF behavior for sure. You can always try the tape trick.
