I seriously don't get it. I import files into Lightroom and a half of a second after I click on an image for the first time the picture goes from perfect exposure to dark and contrasty. This only happens with my 5D II not my 1D III or 1Ds III. I got the idea to open the same image in DPP and see that the image stays at the original exposure.
Picture #1 exported out of DPP with no adjustments
Picture #2 exported out of lightroom with no adjustments

Anyone know of this phenomena and/or how to avoid it in lightroom?

Yikes... I noticed it most of the time for the past few years but I always used the 5D II the least so it slipped my mind.
Thanks for the help.

Turn off auto adjustments. It initially shows embedded jpegs, then renders according to your LR settings, and you have auto adjustments turned on.
