I've been asked to do a photo of a football (American) helmet for a Fathead-type wall cling that they are looking at marketing. From studying some images around the internet, it looks like most are done with a large softbox, mostly overhead.
The wall cling is going to be rather large (4ft x 4ft), so I'd like to make sure the reflections aren't distracting.
I'm thinking of trying something like what is described in this Strobist article:

Any tips for lighting a helmet? I'll have plenty of time to play around with it this weekend, but was wondering if anyone had any good ideas to try.
