I've been seeing a lot of engagement photos using ts-e lenses with some people having mixed feelings about it, but honestly I love the look.

I love that it allows you to really play with the out of focus area creating an eye flow that ultimately ends at the couples face (or focused area)

Does anyone know any good sites showing results based on the tilt/shift of the lens? I've seen a few sites that talk about the lens technically, but haven't seen a simple, when you do this it looks like this, type scenario.

I've called around as well to see if a rental was available and I can't find one at this time so I'll have to settle on internet stuff to decide.

Thanks in advanced!

There are a few TS-E's available for rental at LensRentals.com (external link).

I wish I had more to add. I'm lusting after a TS-E 17mm, but it'll be a while before I can afford it.

Different but somewhat related: Have you tried a Lensbaby? A lot of fun for little money. If I were doing weddings I would definitely pull out my Lensbaby once in a while.

Previously Canon. Now Fuji. (-And loving it!)

Tilt-shift is awesome. I love mine.

Shifting is for correcting the perspective, tilting/swinging moves your plane of focus.
You should just try one Migs.

Migs > Another site, borrow lenses is based in California, they might have more attractive shipping options. I remember I was gonna rent once from lens rentals and I couldn't choose a cheaper shipping options simply because time wise it wouldn't get to me.

If you make your way up to Los Angeles you can rent in-store at a Samys, they have a few tilt-shifts available.

I found one local! but it's the 24mm tilt, I think I want the 45mm 2.8. Might be good to at least try out the tilting since I think i'll be using this more for moving the plane of focus.

40 a day though. Dang. I might as well put that towards the purchase.

Ok, let me wait a couple more pay checks :) Thanks for all the comments.

I use a pentacon six tilt adapter with zeiss lenses for portraiture - the reason being that you can get longer focal lenths than Canon offers. Also works out a lot cheaper. You can pick up a tilt adaptor with a multicoated zeiss 80mm f/2.8 biometar for 1/5th of the price of the canon 90mm f/2.8. Not that much more to add a 120mm f/2.8 Biometar or a 180mm f/2.8 Sonnar. They're obviously manual aperture only, but with live view that's not an issue.
