in the poor way that we colonists speak the mother tongue, the meaning of the phrase "down tools" could be perceived as many things. Imagine my releif to find that the workers were not swallowing tooling in an act of sabotage. Marx said that controlling the means of production was the key, eating the tooling would certainly accomplish that.

If those figures are right
They make 1.5-2 canadian dollars (which are even with USD right now) per day.
& their cost of living allowance is equivalent to $5.

They're complaining? We pay like $2000/month to live !

i don't really think you got that right....

Anyway.... So Nikon pays workers in their sweatshop *cough* factory 1.5-2.4 US$per day, 30-48 US$ per month compared to the huge wages Canon pays at their Japanese factories, yet Nikon gear is more expensive. Interesting. They must get a high knowing their poor employees can't even afford the D5000 they're making by the hundreds of thousands with what they make in a year working for Nikon. Guess that's why they call Nikon "the dark side". Wonder if they get whipped for being late to work too...
