Lovely mammals but in the wrong place. Brian R

Send a few Peweets over here and we'll send back the millions of House Sparrows and European Starlings that we have been "nuturing" for years! Starlings are another species not doing well but Little Egrets, Spoonbills, colonising at a decent rate, i guess nature is in constant flux but we should be careful of interfearing too much. Brian R

canonloader Cream of the Crop ![]() More info | Mar 26, 2010 15:00 | #6 I read about why your sparrows are in decline, and that answered why our crop are on the rise. It's your hedgerows. Or rather, the lack of them. Sparrows need hedgerows to survive and you are cutting them all down to widen your roads and build subdivisons, while all or old family farms are going under and all the old fencelines are now growing into hedgerows, which the sparrows love.
