hey folks,

I dont know if anyone else using CS4 has had this problem, but when using CS4, and then you change program on your computer. the cursor changes from whichever tool you were using to the "Hand Tool". this seems like it cant be fixed, but after abit of searching on the internet shows that if you go: "Edit>Preferences>General>Reset all warning dialogs"
it wipes the memory and allows you to use Photoshop freely again. it was a right pain when it first happened to me.

hope this becomes useful to someone soon.

Jack

Jack,

Not sure what you mean by "changing the window"?

Jack,

That does not happen on my older PS7. Whatever tool I've selected stays selected, even turning Photoshop off for a week, the same tool will be selected when I restart the programme. Have you examined the preference dialogues? Maybe something there has to be OKed?

ill have a look and keep you up to date Richard, but it seems that it is an uncommon problem, i managed to find a solution on the web, so i thought i should share it with people on this forum.

i fixed it a couple of times just by closing Photoshop for 3-5mins before opening it up again.

ok ive just had a look on the Preferences and couldn't find anything of use, i reckon it's just a bug that needs ironing out.
