That's it Peter!!!!

Great improvement!! The second image is just what I was hoping you would get as it was hinted on the image you posted earlier: the trees silhouetted against that lit background. I love how the deck's color come to live and you can almost feel the wood.

I see what you were looking for on the 3rd, instead of a squared camera with the rail, shifting in order to bring more depth to the shot! Alas, you are missing the first 3 inches of the pole... since it's so close to showing the base, it seems cut instead of intentionally framed :).

This are now good night shots! I am missing something of color to break the brownness of the images, but wouldn't know what that could be! :)

Kudos for experimenting! That's the key to learning (and really have fun at it :) )
Rafa.
ps. Hint* You can also try the picture without the wooden construction... move behind it and get the trees beyond... leave them as silhouettes against the lighted sky, that may be a beautiful image!

Thanks Rafa I appreciate it, I applied ev and learned something really good. And I thank you for pointing in out to me in the early post, I know my bad I was too close coz that is why I missed about 3 inches of the post, that is something I have to remember in all the subject, atleast have them all inside the frame as much as possible and have some breathing on the foreground.

Question...In Manual Mode shooting I noticed that the exposure compensate in my camera is in -2 when I press the shutter is that normal? So when Iif I want to shoot Manual mode you have to utilize the flash or my 430ex II, is that the default setting? I tried to bring it to 0 it won't let me.

Thanks,
Peter

Rich, class 4 is enough if you don't plan on doing 1080p movies.

As of now, you shoot Jpeg but it'll change to raw fast enough ;)

My 16gb cards hold exactly 600raw files. So it'll be around 300 for the 8gb and 150 pictures for the 4gb.

I highly suggest at least 8gb. But that is my opinion and others might disagree ;)

I agree with rivest. 8gb would be an excellent starting point. You may be surprised at how easy it is to fill that card up in one outing. Class 4 is great for pics and JPEG, but if you plan to shoot in Burst mode and in Raw...you might want a class 6 or class 10, though the T2i's buffer in burst mode is not great, I've heard that a faster SD card will help a little with that. If I'm wrong on that, someone please correct me, cuz those 16gb class 10 cards are pricey!!!!

Here are two pictures I took tonite at the lantern festival here in Seoul. These are SOOC with zero processing. I have about 75 shots all bracketed 2/3 of a stop. A couple of theme need to be HDR'd but most are fine with the correct exposure setting - probably delete the over/unders once I've had more time too look at them.

Once I do, I post them in a new thread for C&C - feel free to let me know how you would improve these two pics either with the camera or in post processing.

In a situation like that, I would definitely bracket as much as possible! I took pictures at a lantern festival here in Taiwan with a point and shoot, and the poor camera had no idea what to do (I was trying to shoot my family members in front of the lanterns). I spent hours trying to fix that mess in Photoshop...

I had to look twice, I thought the last one was NSFW :p

Could be misinterpreted that way, but it's actually a "game" that middle school boys do here. Not so often any more, but occasionally you can still see it. Very strange to see real kids doing that.

I tried to see what I could pull out of the shadows, but couldn't get much here. This is where having a big old raw file comes in handy! You can do a hell of a lot with one of those.
I saw this came on the old "Fat Albert" show. It was called "buck-buck". I never saw kids playing it in Korea, but no doubt they do...
