this was an great horned owl being displayed at Dickens on the Strand in Galveston, Tx. he decided to go exploring on his own for a good 20 minutes, and flew around the Strand for a couple of blocks before his handlers were able to get his attention again :)

Better also work on your better half if you have one- because if she doesn't want you to splurge, you need to soften her up over the weeks... (Notice I didn't say over the months, because I am confident if you want it bad enough, you will find a way) :D:twisted::twisted:

I told my wife I wanted the 7d. She asked the price and I told her. She gasped. Then a week later I told her I "settled" for the t2i. She asked the price again. I told her & she smiled.

That's one way to go... :)
I got a 150-500mm sigma lens... Wife knew I wanted one for a long time. I showed her the one from sigma website... $1,400 Then I showed her the ebay BIN list at 999+ shipping and lastly showed her this one for $750. She was all smiles. heh.

OK, back to topic, I found a helpful article in my search to improve focusing(AF)-
http://www.usa.canon.com …ArticleAct&articleID=2286 (external link)

This talks about back button focus lock and it's applications. I aim to give it a try.

This isn't the most interesting picture int he world, but I'm getting stir crazy over here! Only a few hours of good daylight as it is and it's been nothing but cloudy and blinding snow for a week straight.

I like that a lot, actually. Simple, clean, nice.

No planning on these, just sitting there with my camera planning to go to a school event and decided to take these. As you can see I didnt even clean the boys face, but I like the way they came out. I wish I had some post processing skills because I'd darken them a bit. Maybe Santa will bring me LightRoom to play with.

I can't remember if I posted this, but I think not. I like the lighting at the top and the overall atmosphere.

I just received my T2i in the mail today from Amazon, and although I've only taken three pictures and a ten-second video, my mind is blown (coming from the Rebel XS).

The higher-ability ISO is the real deal. I took a couple pictured by firelight that wouldn't be possible with the XS.

I'm impressed. And the sreen! Dang, that's a bright little thing.

Thank you. bw!

That is very cool, lostpacket. Almost looks like an architectural rendering.

Frank, CUTE pics. Second one- boy's neck line is blurred. shooting at 1/10 will do that. Try to bump the speed up.
There is a good "rule of thumb"- (of course not to follow all the time) to TRY to shoot over 1/60 if you are hand holding a camera for less blur. Some people can manage at 1/40 with no issues.
