Just a few from the weekend. I'm loving the shots I'm seeing! This is the first white Christmas in our area since 1913!!

Well, one more before heading to bed. I braved the cold tonight and took a wider field view of the constellation Orion.

Tried a night shot of my new toy. I missed the focus (was trying manual), but figured I'd share it anyway. This is my first real try at night shots. I have a couple of other, but am just not happy with the composition. I'll try again on a less cold night! Preferably in a moonlit location only. Did this shot with the tammy 17-50, but I think I'll try the canon 85 1.8 and the 50 1.8 too.

Here's a comical one from post christmas festivites. My dad was passed out in the chair, figured it was as good a time as any!

Wolfie, the night shot came out pretty good considering the light source is on the wrong side of your guitar! I'm amazed you have it as well lit as you did. There seems to be a greenish cast to everything, though. Maybe needs a bit of white balance tweaking?

Thanks mook. finding the right lighting position was difficult because depending on how I turned the guitar, I'd be fighting multiple light sources that were different colors. Just didn't look right. There is actually a light sort of behind and to my right that I was getting my light from. Here's my other attempt, though just not what I'm looking for. I think I'll actually try going to a location for the next attempt.

Great shot of a beautiful cat Window Frame. What's her name? She looks very much like my girl Bo (below) that we had to say goodbye to this year. :(

Wow, that's quite a likeness!

I have been trying to learn a new lens. I still don't know exactly what I'm doing, but am having fun trying to figure it out! Here are a couple "interpretations" of a scene happened upon riding my scooter home from a lesson.

Switched from the 450D a month or so ago and thought I'd better get round to posting some photos (assuming I can eventually figure out uploading).

Nice shots Mooka. It's nice glass from what I can tell.

In "Riverwalk" I would have centered myself on the path to get an equal amount of trees on one side and railing on the other.

"Boaters Wide" is nice and sharp. Was it early morning?

Did yoo get any shots of the boaters faces as they rowed past?
