I'm looking for harsh criticism of my photos - tell me how to improve, I will be grateful.

Great lightning shots!

I can't wait, just a few more weeks and storm season kicks into high gear around here. I'm an armchair storm chaser and can't wait to start photographing storms. I got my lightning trigger all ready to go!

It's changed a massive amount since I arrived in '97

Okay here goes. My first picture post maybe not the best but I like the moment captured. Tried to crop out the distraction in the background but couldn't get it all out. C&C of course is welcomed.

I barely noticed the background. What a beautiful dog!! I think it's a great shot, and I certainly have no C&C to contribute, so I'll leave that to our experts.

We had a brief power outage, and because I was bored, I went out on the catwalk. While it's not the prettiest view in the world, I was fascinated by the cathedral lights coming from the setting sun, so I ran inside and grabbed the camera.

And while I was out there, I leaned over the railing and grabbed these. I don't know if you can see the fly on one of the leaves in the third shot, but I'm amazed at what this camera and the nifty two fifty can do, and wide open to boot.

Well, I'm on a photo mission tonight. The decaying NanoSail-D solar sail satellite will be passing over my neck of the woods later. It's barely visible, but occasionally produces very bright flashes of light. There's a $500 photo contest for the best picture of it, so I'm hoping the skies remain clear long enough to get a shot.

Trying to catch a photo of a nearly invisible speck of light in space at a very precise time should be an interesting challenge to say the least.

This is my first user image edit, I hope you don't mind! Lovely shot and view Sean. I opened your photograph into photoshop and was able lighten it up a bit (perhaps too much?) and pull out some nice red and yellow tones that I think seem to work with the blues in the image.

Good luck Maru, you're the best for this type of shots ;)

Good luck from me too Maru. Can't wait to see what you can come up with. And I agree with Rivest. If anyone can nail that sucker, it's you.
